Women’s Ordination Retreat
Saturday July 23rd – from 10am – 4pm
pop-up location Community Congregational Church of Tiburon, CA
A day-long retreat honoring and celebrating women’s religious leadership in a beautiful sacred setting.  Enjoy a panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay and peaceful outdoor spaces including a labyrinth…Share a restful sabbath with opportunity for prayer, reflection, solidarity,  and bearing witness to each others stories…This unique retreat has been created for: women who come from, who were raised in,  and/or who are currently in Christian traditions and denominations which do not allow the full participation of women in religious leadership.

Introduction to Centering Prayer
Friday, July 15th, 2016 – 1:30pm
University of California-Berkeley, Tolman Hall
Youth will learn about and have the opportunity to experience Centering Prayer, a Christian contemplative practice.  Joellynn Monahan, Abbess of Heart of Wisdom Monastery, joins guest presenters from several faith traditions teaching meditation and contemplation in The Art of Meditation Class (part of UC-Berkeley’s Academic Talent Development Program).

Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary Pause Day in Lent
a restful, restorative retreat on the PLTS campus
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 – 1:45pm-4:45pm
PLTS students, staff, faculty and family are invited be pilgrims into the Heart of Wisdom during this spacious and peaceful afternoon of communal and individual contemplative practices led by Joellynn Monahan, Abbess of Heart of Wisdom Monastery.  More information

Join Heart of Wisdom Monastery, in a diverse and inclusive community to explore together how these two traditions can intertwine in our lives.  We come together in contemplative practice, diving into both Christian and Buddhist practices during a day of quiet, reflection and refuge.  More information

I’m serving as Abbess for this Christian spiritual practice retreat: a pilgrimage into the Heart of Wisdom as part of a diverse and inclusive contemplative retreat weekend – join the retreat only or add additional workshops to earn a micro-certificate in Transformative Community BuildingOffered by the Heart of Wisdom Monastery in collaboration with the Center for Spiritual & Social Transformation as part of Pacific School of Religion‘s Summer Session.
